Weekly Update (1/30/12-2/5/12)

UPCOMING EVENTS: 1/30/12- 2/5/12
1. Liaison Meeting: Just a reminder, our monthly Liaison meeting will be THIS FRIDAY (February 3, 2012) from 5:30PM-7:00PM at the San Jose Office. Please be sure to email all your forms to Denise by Friday.

2. OCC Supplies: If your club has been collecting supplies for the December/January OCC drive, please bring them to the Liaison meeting on Friday.

3. Ken-Ya Dance Tickets: If you or your club members are interested in buying tickets for Ken-Ya Dance on Saturday February 18th from 4:30-7:30pm, tickets will be available for pick up at the Liaison meeting on Friday (February 3, 2012). Ken-Ya Dance is a charity dance show case event featuring dance crews from the respective local areas and MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew (IAMME). Tickets will be $20. Email rcyouthfundraising@gmail.com with a count of how many students will be attending from your school.

4. Valentine Card Making Event: Want to thank those amazing adult volunteers for taking the time to help volunteer? Come to one of our the Valentine's Card Making Sessions on Sunday February 5, 2012. The times for the two sessions are as follows: Shift One (9:00AM-11:00AM) and Shift Two (11:00AM-1:00PM). Volunteers must sign up for the event on the form found under the "Current Event Sign Up" tab.

Come join us in learning about human trafficking with a guest speaker and the documentary Call and Response. Feel free to bring food, blankets, pillows, and friends!

Our Willow Glen monthly care package assembly will take place at the American Legion. Come join us as we box up supplies for our troops. Please remember to bring your community service form if you need one signed!

Evergreen Variety Show

Evergreen High School is holding a variety show at their school and needs fabulous people like you to perform and wow their audience!

Do you have a hidden talent? Do you love dancing? Are you in a band? Are you a great comedian? Or an amazing magician? Whatever your talent is, come and show it off at our RED CROSS VARIETY SHOW on February 9th at 6PM! :D

The variety show is like a talent show with a "VARIETY" of talents performed by your teachers, classmates, clubs, and staff. This is an event that you wouldn't want to miss out! If you are interested in performing please contact Crystal at CrystalLlanes@yahoo.com

For those who don't want to perform and would rather just watch, please contact Crystal as well to purchase a ticket.
Presale tickets are $6 and at the door they are $8

MLK Recap and Ice Skating Social Reminder

Hi Red Crossers!
Thank you for all of you who came out on Monday to help us distribute important disaster education into the community! Those that attended had a blast playing ice breakers, learning about disaster preparedness through peer skits, and got to meet other Red Cross Silicon Valley youth members.

Missed out on MLK? It's not to late to join in on the fun! The ice skating social is THIS SATURDAY FROM 1:30PM-4:30PM AT VALLCO ICE CENTER. RSVP for a $5 discount under the tab "Current Event Sign up". There will be food and drinks provided. Hope to see you all there!
